Azenhas - Vilar de Mouros

Praia de Caminha sits at the mouth of the River Minho, just a few steps from the historic centre of this medieval town that marks Portugal's northern border with Spanish Galicia. The estuary water is relatively calm along this stretch, and the view across the River Minho to the Spanish bank is striking. The medieval town of Caminha, with its historic square and sixteenth-century palaces, is one of the best preserved in northern Portugal.

Praia de Moledo do Minho sits at the mouth of the River Minho, with views of Spanish Galicia and the rich estuary ecosystem. Ínsua Island, with its monastery and seventeenth-century fortress, is visible from the beach, giving it a singular historical character. The water is relatively calm near the river mouth, and the combination of ocean and estuary creates very diverse conditions for visitors.
