Praia de São Rafael is one of the most picturesque beaches on the western Algarve, with rock formations that create sheltered coves of fine sand and very calm turquoise water. The natural caves and arches that frame the strand are an attraction in themselves and can be explored at low tide. Good signage and quality access have made it one of the busiest in the Albufeira area.
