Praia de Tavira lies on Ilha de Tavira, a barrier island within the Ria Formosa Natural Park, reached by boat or ferry from the town of Tavira. Its sheltered location on the lagoon side guarantees calm, clean water, with long vegetated dunes that preserve the natural setting. It is one of the quietest and most authentic beaches on the eastern Algarve.
