About the Beach
Costa da Caparica is Lisbon's great urban beach, with around 30 kilometres of sand south of the River Tagus, served by a beach tram that distributes bathers along the dozens of numbered sections. Powerful waves make it a highly regarded surf destination, with several schools and international competitions. Proximity to Lisbon and excellent facilities make it one of the busiest beaches in Portugal.
