Praia de Barcos/armação de Pêra Nascente

Praia da Armação de Pêra is one of the largest beaches in the Algarve, with a long stretch of fine sand running for several kilometres between rocky promontories. The bathing town is one of the Algarve's most traditional tourist centres, with a strong presence of both Portuguese and international visitors. The small Nossa Senhora da Rocha fort, at the end of the beach, is the area's most recognisable landmark.

This section of Meia Praia, east of Armação de Pêra, is a quieter beach with good amenities and lower visitor numbers than the main core. Water quality is good and the long stretch of sand provides space for everyone. The semi-natural setting and partially preserved dunes give it a calmer character.
