Praia de Magoito

Praia das Maçãs is the most popular beach in Sintra, with a lively atmosphere and a good range of restaurants and bars by the sand. Praia Grande, in Sintra, is one of the longest and most wave-battered beaches on the Lisbon coast, with high-quality waves that have made it a benchmark for surf and bodyboard. Set within the Sintra-Cascais Natural Park, it keeps an exceptional natural setting of cliffs, rocky headlands and the wild beauty typical of this coast. The natural rock pools are popular at low tide.

Praia da Adraga is considered one of the most beautiful beaches in Portugal, with striking cliffs, caves and natural arches framing a cove of fine sand and deeply coloured water. Praia de São Julião, in Mafra, is a sizeable beach within the Sintra-Cascais Natural Park, with a wide sand strip and regular waves good for surf. Its location on a less developed stretch of coast ensures a quality natural setting and a more moderate crowd than the Cascais line. It is much loved by local surfers and by visitors looking for peace.
