About the Beach

Praia de Miramar is one of the most elegant beaches in the Gaia municipality, with the iconic Capela do Senhor da Pedra chapel built on a rock in the sea — one of the most photographed images on the Porto coast. The beach has a long history as the bathing destination of Porto's middle class, with summer villas dating from the nineteenth and twentieth centuries. The well-kept surroundings and the beauty of the spot make it a destination of great scenic and cultural value.
