S. Rafael

Praia de São Rafael is one of the most picturesque beaches on the western Algarve, with rock formations that create sheltered coves of fine sand and very calm turquoise water. Good signage and quality access have made it one of the busiest in the Albufeira area.

The cove, completely surrounded by golden rocks, creates a setting of total isolation, with water of extraordinary clarity. Difficult access keeps visitor numbers low, preserving an untouched natural setting that is very rare in the central Algarve.
