About the Beach
São Pedro de Moel is one of Portugal's most picturesque and literary beaches, immortalised by the poet Afonso Lopes Vieira who lived here and wrote part of his work in the village. The charming village, with brightly painted wooden houses surrounded by the Leiria Forest — one of the oldest planted pine woods in the world — creates a unique atmosphere. The beach, with its breakwater and low cliffs, has an irresistible retro charm.
