Praia Fluvial de Alvito da Beira sits on the banks of the Alvito stream, in the village of the same name, about 18 km from Proença-a-Nova. Instead of sand it has a lawn for towels, with a picnic park and shaded areas around it, and a bar serving meals. It is the starting point of the Rota dos Recantos e Encantos walking trail, which follows old irrigation channels up to the Cova do Alvito. During the bathing season there is free transport from the Proença-a-Nova urban park.
