Praia Fluvial de Loriga sits on the cool, crystal-clear waters of the River Loriga, on the flank of the Serra da Estrela, in a deep green valley that is one of the most beautiful in the Beira mountain region. The historic village of Loriga, considered one of the most beautiful places in Portugal, is metres away, with its stone houses and the irrigation channels (levadas) that run through the streets. The cool altitude temperatures and the water quality make it a much-loved summer destination.
