Praia Fluvial do Sorraia

Praia de Montalvo/Tesos is in the municipality of Ponte de Sor, district of Portalegre, in the Alentejo region. River beach identified as a bathing water in the 2026 decree, with no water quality rating from APA yet.

Praia de Clube Náutico de Avis is in the municipality of Avis, district of Portalegre, in the Alentejo region. River beach with water quality rated Excellent by APA in 2025.

Praia Fluvial dos Olhos d'Água do Alviela is in Alcanena, district of Santarém, by the source of the river Alviela and inside the Serras de Aire e Candeeiros Nature Park. It holds the Blue Flag for 2026, its second consecutive year, and received the Accessible Beach award for the first time. According to Alcanena town council, the 2026 bathing season runs from 27 June to 31 August, with a lifeguard on duty from 10am to 7pm; outside that period there is no supervision. The car park holds 164 cars and 5 coaches, and parking outside it is not allowed. There are toilets, showers, drinking water points, a playground, a picnic area and street food during the bathing season, plus the Alviela Ciência Viva science centre in the same complex. Fires are not allowed anywhere in the complex, and glass containers are prohibited.

Praia Fluvial de Constância sits at the confluence of the rivers Tagus and Zêzere, in a Renaissance town that was once home to Luís de Camões. The meeting of the two rivers creates an area of natural beaches of great beauty, with the white houses of the town as a backdrop. The historic connection to the poet of the Lusiads and the preserved sixteenth-century architecture make Constância one of the most culturally rich river destinations in Portugal.
