Praia de Buarcos is the northern beach of Figueira da Foz, next to the main beach but with a more fishing-village, traditional feel — arte xávega (beach-seine fishing) is still practised here. It is very popular with Coimbra residents during the summer, offering a river alternative to the coastal beach. The banks of the Mondego have a tradition of leisure and fishing that goes back centuries.

Praia Fluvial de Lorvão sits on the banks of the River Mondego near the historic village of Lorvão, famous for its medieval monastery. The calm river water provides a setting of rest and leisure much appreciated during the summer. Proximity to the Lorvão monastery, with its magnificent church and historic archive, enriches the visit with a cultural dimension.

Praia Fluvial de Pampilhosa da Serra sits on the Cabril reservoir on the River Zêzere, surrounded by the Serra da Lousã in one of the most isolated and natural areas of central Portugal. The cool, crystal-clear reservoir water and the surrounding mountain vegetation create a setting of great natural purity. This area, hit by the forest fires of 2017, has been recovering and reasserting itself as a nature-tourism destination.

Praia Fluvial de Penacova sits on the banks of the River Mondego in a valley of exceptional scenic beauty, with hills covered in pine and eucalyptus framing the calm river water. Canoeing and boat trips are very popular on this stretch of the Mondego. The beach is well equipped and very popular in summer with the Coimbra-area population.

Praia Fluvial do Cabril sits in the village of Cabril, in one of the most isolated and natural interior areas of Portugal, next to the Cabril reservoir on the River Zêzere. Crystal-clear water and the hills surrounding the reservoir create a setting of natural purity rarely found at more accessible beaches. Part of the village was submerged by the reservoir when the dam was built and was reconstructed on the slopes above.
