Praia de Agroal

Praia Fluvial do Agroal is a river beach of great beauty, on a reservoir surrounded by limestone, where the water has a characteristic emerald-blue shade typical of areas with dissolved calcite. This natural phenomenon gives its water an extraordinary colour that surprises first-time visitors. The rarity of this water colour makes it one of the most photographed river destinations in Portugal.

Praia de Alqueidão is in the municipality of Tomar, district of Santarém, in the Lisbon and Tagus Valley region. Coastal beach with water quality rated Excellent by APA in 2025.

Praia Fluvial de Castelo de Bode sits on the reservoir of the same name on the River Zêzere, one of the largest in Portugal, supplying drinking water to the Lisbon metropolitan area. The warm, calm water of the reservoir, surrounded by hills and pine woods, creates excellent conditions for water sports like jet ski, wakeboard and sailing. The area is very popular with Tomar and Lisbon residents during the summer.
